SM Guide
SM Guide is an innovative product which assists customers in locating a product within a specific store (such as supermarket). SM Guide consists of a module capable of processing, networking, speech recognition and graphical displaying (supporting touch-screens). The customers can interact with the module by means of speech commands and receive the results through video and/or audio.
Customer requests can be broadly categorized into search by:
- Product genre (e.g. "baby products")
- Product type (e.g. "diapers")
- Product and brand (e.g. "Pampers diapers")
- Brand and type (e.g. "Pampers baby dry")
SM Guide responses can be categorized into:
- Graphical or verbal directions to a matched product or a list of matched products upon further selection from the customer (e.g. "Hall B/Shelve A: Go left, right and again right"), based on the current location of the SM Guide terminal
- Representation of the current SM Guide terminal location and the matched product(s) locations on a map where the customer is able to get further directions for each of them by touching it (or saying it).
